I have no problem killing and eating animals, but you should always make sure they get a quick death if you can, cutting off the head first isn't that hard. Of course, this is from the same country where sometimes animals are beaten before they are killed because the adreneline they produce makes the meat tastier. I can't blame the girl for not liking watching it, it merely shows she's empathetic.

It might seem cruel but not unusual in the least. I will admit the gutting process is gross but Azuma specializes us with giving a slice of life, that is why I love his books.

Um... LoveMeKissMe... while I agree with the whole circle of life gambit, bear are not exclusively carnivores. In fact nearly all bears a omnivores. They eat meat and plants too. Omnivores... omnivores... not carnivores... but I meat polar bears might be carnivores but I think its an environment thing for them... but bears are omnivores!
