Kamehameha I was the conqueror and king of Hawaii. It shouldn't be that much of a mental stretch for you to figure out that he's suggesting that Muira is akin to royalty and thus didn't need to go slumming on his little fishing trip, which he thought was going to cheer her up. It has nothing to do with DBZ.

I think maybe Goku only says "Kame hame haa!" in the English dub and in the japanese one, it was "Kame Yame yaaa!" Why Funimation changed it, tho, the world may never know...

It's a pun, Goku's Kamehameha was taken from the Hawian king's name. Toriyama-sama stated that in many interviews. So both sources are correct.
