Azuma clearly mentioned in his site that he did not see yotsubato ! animed. There was a rumor that he was never happy with the anime staff of azumanga and that's the biggest reason he did not want yotusbato animed. He denied that partly and said the reason is that yotsubato has full of scenes which will be just boring and meaningless repeation. However sooner or later, it will be animed, because it is the company not the artists who decide whether anime it or not unless you are a big shot like doriyama, rumiko, adachi or inoue.

If you can read japanese, go to his web site and you will find whole thing.

Ah, some good character building from the three dudes.  I love learning more about their lives outside of Yotsuba's little world.

 

And I think everyone was a tad harsh to Yanda this time.  He didn't even do anything too childish or anything.
